Spelling Word Study – Independent Spelling Word-Study Process.
Read a word.
Look at the word and say it out loud.

Spell that word.
Touch each letter with a pencil and say each letter.

Cover the word.
While covering the word, form a visual image of the word from memory.

Write the word.

Use printing instead of curvsive for this type of practice.

Check the word.

Uncover the word and check it letter for letter.

plain door. You can rein your horse, if it should rain. The kings reign
wisely.
